Mad Hatters Tea Party Themed Wedding

Still keeping up with the wedding themed posts - this weekend's wedding cake was based on a sketch drawn by the bride.

I've been so excited about this cake since our initial meeting back in September last year for so many reasons - the whimsical style of the cake was a massive attraction for me but also because the bride was getting married in a cave... yes, a cave!! All sparkly and lit up and because she had to wear a hard hat, rather than settling for a bog standard issue plain yellow she custom made one that was covered in diamantes. Love it!

After many hours of work with lots of little details such as a pocket watch, caterpillar, tea cup with dormice and a plate of cakes the final cake looked like this:

Robot Cake with Rotating Head & Robot Noises

Watching the delight on the three year old boy's face when he saw his birthday cake really made my day, he was so excited and couldn't stop laughing and wanting to stand as close to it as possible. You could literally see his eyes light up.

This has to be one of my favourite cakes I've made - the fact that the head rotates and makes robot noises really adds to it - you can watch a video of it below.

a sprinkle of love

I love sprinkle cakes - this one is a cute 4" cake covered in cappuccino pearls but I've got a couple of orders coming up over the next few months with brightly coloured hundreds and thousands which really does look ace.

Keep Your Chin Up

If you love coffee you need to get some Jimmy's in your life - not just because it tastes amazing but Jimmy & Suzie are two of the loveliest people you're ever likely to meet.

We made this super cute cake replica of one of their products - it's even coffee flavoured, although we can make it in what ever flavour takes your fancy.

You can also find Jimmy's on facebook and twitter - go and give them some love!

Vito Sport & Blake Samson

We're often so focused on getting a cake completed and delivered and we end up forgetting to take photos. It's great when we get sent photos of you with your cakes.

This month's delight was for the very talented Blake Samson - if you're local to Poole you might have seen him performing with the Animal Relentless Bike Tour.

If you're into mountain biking or even if you aren't you should check out the videos in association with the Mercedes Vito Sport - Blake is one of their ambassadors.

Harry Potter Cake

I've been excited about making this cake for weeks. As a fan of the Harry Potter books it was great to have the opportunity to tie in the theme with a cake.

It's always lovely to get feedback from my cakes, the 8 year old girl this was for told me that I am "literally amazing" - completely made my day!

Code Red

There seems to be a red theme going on with my cake orders at the moment.

customer "it's for a man."
customer "he likes cars."
customer "sports cars in particular."
